ÇEV Sanat – 100th Anniversary Concert
11-year-old Contemporary Education Foundation (ÇEV) scholar Umut Can Yıldız has taken the first step toward his dream of traveling to space.
A 7th-grade student studying in the gifted students’ class at Ömer Dönmez Toklu Middle School, Umut showed a profound interest in the astronomy classes he took there. Now, he has reached a significant milestone in realizing his dream of becoming an astronaut. Having earned the right to participate in NASA’s space training for highly gifted children, Umut Can will receive education at the Kennedy Space Center in the United States between June 30 and July 8. Expressing his immense happiness, Yıldız said, “I want to represent Turkey in space.”
As the Board of Directors of the Contemporary Education Foundation, we wish him great success in the space training he will attend, where he will work alongside astronaut JR Reilly on topics such as rocket operations and design, Newton’s laws of motion, the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces on rocket motion, and the history of NASA.
