The Contemporary Education Foundation (ÇEV) was established in 1994 with the aim of strengthening a more qualified, equitable, and modern understanding of education in Turkey. The foundation process of the organization is based on the belief that education is a cornerstone not only of individual development but also of societal progress.

ÇEV was founded under the leadership of intellectuals devoted to education and social responsibility, including Prof. Dr. Türkan Saylan, Prof. Dr. Necla Arat, Prof. Dr. Aysel Çelikel, Prof. Dr. Oya Başak, and Gülseven Yaşer. From its establishment, the Foundation has aimed to contribute to the development of individuals who are guided by reason and science, respectful of human rights, and committed to the fundamental values of the Republic.

Taking into account the structural challenges faced by Turkey in the field of education at the time of its establishment, ÇEV has approached addressing these challenges not merely as a support activity, but as a long-term social responsibility. In line with this approach, the Foundation has carried out activities to strengthen equal opportunities in education, support qualified human resources, and promote a contemporary understanding of education.

Over the years, ÇEV has expanded its areas of activity by closely following changing societal needs and transformations in education; it has broadened its impact through scholarship programs, educational support, and projects aimed at empowering young talents. Today, the Foundation continues its work in line with its founding principles, guided by a scientific approach and a strong sense of public responsibility.
