INFORMATION NOTICE ON THE PROCESSING AND PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA (KVKK)
- Data Controller
Your personal data are processed by the Contemporary Education Foundation / Çağdaş Eğitim Vakfı (“ÇEV” or the “Foundation”), acting in its capacity as the data controller, in accordance with the Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”) and the applicable legislation.
The Foundation adopts the principle of processing personal data in compliance with the law and principles of good faith; ensuring that such data are accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date; processed for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes; and handled in a manner that is relevant, limited and proportionate to the purposes for which they are processed.
- Purposes of Processing Personal Data
Your collected personal data are processed, within the scope of the data processing conditions set out under Articles 5 and 6 of the KVKK, for the following purposes:
- Planning and execution of the Foundation’s activities, scholarship programs, educational projects, and social responsibility initiatives
- Management of relationships with scholarship recipients, alumni, donors, volunteers, supporters, and stakeholders
- Execution of donation processes, maintenance of donation records, and reporting in compliance with applicable legislation
- Disclosure of donors’ names and/or titles to the public, subject to their written declaration or explicit consent
- Planning and execution of human resources processes
- Conducting corporate communication, information, and promotional activities
- Fulfillment of the Foundation’s legal obligations
- Ensuring that the Foundation’s activities are carried out in a secure, sustainable, and legally compliant manner
- Processing of Donor Data and Disclosure of Names
- Donors’ identity, contact, and donation-related financial information are processed for the purposes of executing donation processes, maintaining proper records, accounting, and fulfilling reporting obligations in accordance with applicable legislation.
- Donors’ names and/or titles may be disclosed to the public only where the donor has provided a written declaration or explicit consent. Personal data of donors who have not provided such consent shall be kept confidential and shall not be shared with third parties.
- Transfer of Personal Data
Your personal data may be transferred, in accordance with Articles 8 and 9 of the KVKK and limited to the purposes set out above, to the following parties:
- Business partners and service providers from whom services are procured
- Legally authorized public institutions and organizations
- Legally authorized private persons
Such transfers shall be carried out only to the extent necessary and in compliance with applicable legislation.
In the event that personal data are transferred abroad, the Foundation acts in accordance with the procedures and principles stipulated under the KVKK.
- Method of Collection and Legal Grounds for Processing Personal Data
Your personal data are collected through various channels, including but not limited to the Foundation’s website, application forms, donation forms, contracts, electronic communications (e-mail), call center interactions, and physical documentation.
Personal data processing activities may be based on one or more of the following legal grounds:
- Explicitly provided for by law
- Directly related to the establishment or performance of a contract
- Necessary for the fulfillment of the Foundation’s legal obligations
- Necessary for the legitimate interests of the Foundation, provided that such interests do not violate the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject
- Based on the explicit consent of the data subject
- Your Rights Under the KVKK
Pursuant to Article 11 of the KVKK, as a data subject, you have the right to:
- Learn whether your personal data are being processed
- Request information regarding the processing of your personal data, if any
- Learn the purpose of processing and whether such data are used in accordance with their purpose
- Know the third parties to whom your personal data are transferred, whether domestically or abroad
- Request the rectification of incomplete or inaccurate personal data
- Request the erasure or destruction of your personal data
- Object to the occurrence of a result against you arising from the analysis of your data exclusively through automated systems
- Request compensation for damages in case you suffer harm due to unlawful processing of your personal data
- Application Procedure
- You may submit your requests regarding your rights by completing and delivering the Data Subject Application Form available on our website to the Foundation in writing.
- Your applications will be reviewed and concluded as soon as possible and no later than thirty (30) days, depending on the nature of your request, and will be processed free of charge. However, if the process requires additional costs, a fee may be charged in accordance with the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board.
